What We Did in Our COC TOEFL Spring Trimester 2014 Block 2 Lesson 2


A | Took a vocabulary quiz on 15 words starting with “i” and then went over the next 15 words for tomorrow’s quiz.

B | Worked in pairs on the Cambridge Listening TOEFL Simulation #1. Afterwards students analyzed 5 questions they got wrong in depth, then we had a class discussion about some of the more troubling questions.

C | Discussed our 3-D printing study group and answered some administrative questions about how to organize the discussions.

D | Went over the “Negative Factual Questions” lesson from The Complete Guide to the TOEFL Test, iBT Edition and did some sample questions.


1 | Write an e-mail answering your 1 assigned question for the 3-D printing study group
2 | Find 1 article for your Survey Research Project and write a summary paragraph. Make sure you record the author, source, date and URL of the article.
3 | Study the 15 vocabulary words for tomorrow’s quiz
4 | Read PAGES 1 TO 2 of the essay “Mitchel Resnick (2007): All I Really Need to Know (About Creative Thinking) I Learned (By Studying How Children Learn) in Kindergarten. ACM Creativity & Cognition conference.” which you can download from the Learning Creative Learning 2 syllabus http://learn.media.mit.edu/syllabus.html and then write 4 discussion questions for tomorrow’s class discussion
